Optical Communications

In optical communications, the main focus is to undertake innovative work on near-infrared and visible light communications for designing high speed network for providing ultrahigh bandwidth without congestion, as well as to support quad-play applications at anytime, anyplace, anywhere any devices. The other focus of this group includes research in the areas of THz communication, next generation communication, free space communication, modulation techniques, Internet of Things, photonics physical layer, optical bandwidth management, mitigation of nonlinear distortion, dispersions and radio-over-fibre.

Microwave Photonics

Our group is focused on the development and investigation of application of Microwave Photonics for Wireless Networks, Radar and Lidar Communications, Sensors and Warfare systems. The other activities include the Photonic generation of microwaves and millimetre waves and its detection and All-optical processing.
